Georgian President does not recognize elections and calls for protest
Georgian President Salome Zourabishvili did not recognize the election. She called on citizens to protest.
The Georgian president said that the parliamentary elections were “totally rigged” and she, as an independent institution, does not recognize these elections.
“I do not recognize these elections,” Zourabishvili emphasized.
According to the president, the Georgian people have become victims of a Russian special operation.
“I would like to say on behalf of the only independent institution left in this country that I do not recognize these elections. Recognizing these elections is impossible. It is tantamount to recognizing Russia's arrival here, and subjugation of Georgia to Russia. This is not what I came to this country for, this is not what our ancestors lived for, and we will not accept this,” the President summarized.
At the same time, she announced a rally on Rustaveli Avenue. The rally is scheduled for tomorrow, October 28, at 19:00.
