Georgian President makes statement on possible election results
Vote counting has begun in Georgia. Georgian President Salome Zourabishvili is confident that the opposition will win the parliamentary elections.
Zurabishvili emphasized that she was proud of her country and confident in its future.
“European Georgia is winning with 52 % despite attempts to rig elections and without votes from the diaspora. Georgia has shown democracy, europeanity and maturity … I am proud and confident in our European future!” she wrote.
Elections in Georgia
Today, October 26, parliamentary elections are taking place in Georgia, with the pro-Russian Georgian Dream and pro-European opposition parties running for office.
At one of the polling stations in Marneuli, mass ballot stuffing was recorded, which led to the annulment of the voting results there.
This is not the first case of election fraud in the country.
All polling stations in Georgia are currently closed. However, exit polls give opposite results.
