France is allocating a new military aid package for Ukraine, amounting to 2 billion euros, states French President Emmanuel Macron during his press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"I would like to announce today a new support package for Ukraine worth 2 billion euros. This support should address the immediate needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," said Macron.

Where the 2 billion euros in support for Ukraine will go:

  • MILAN anti-tank missiles

  • Air defense systems: MICA missiles

  • Aviation missiles (for equipping Mirage aircraft)

  • Mistral ground defense missiles

  • AMX-10RC armored vehicles

  • Ammunition, including remotely controlled ones.

Additionally, the funding will support the production of equipment in Ukraine in collaboration with French defense companies.

Zelenskyy is currently visiting France to prepare for a security summit.

The Coalition of the Willing summit will take place on March 27 in Paris, where participants will discuss more specific steps to support Ukraine. Zelenskyy will also attend the summit.

France's support for Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, France has been providing significant military aid to Ukraine. Specifically, it has already supplied long-range SCALP missiles and Caesar self-propelled howitzers.

Recently, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the delivery of Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force responded to this statement, describing the Mirage 2000 as an aircraft capable of effectively performing combat tasks.

As reported by the Air Force, on the night of March 7, the French Mirage 2000 fighter jets participated for the first time in repelling a massive Russian attack.
