Ukraine repels Russian air attack with French Mirage 2000 for the first time

French Mirage 2000 fighter jets took part in repelling a massive Russian attack for the first time. Ukraine received the planes only a month ago, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Russia's air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine. Fighter aircraft, including F-16 and Mirage-2000 aircraft, were also involved.
“French fighter jets, which arrived in Ukraine only a month ago, took part in repelling a Russian air attack for the first time,” the statement said.
On the night of March 7, the Russians fired 67 missiles of various types (cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-55cm, Kalibr, ballistic, anti-aircraft S-300, guided aircraft Kh-59/69), as well as 194 drones at Ukraine.
Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 100 Russian drones and 34 missiles. In addition, up to 10 Russian missiles (not included in the statistics of those shot down) did not reach their targets. Also, 86 Russian imitator drones were lost in the area.

Mirage 2000 in Ukraine
On February 6, 2025, the French Defense Minister announced the transfer of the first Mirage 2000 fighters to Ukraine. Along with the planes, pilots who had undergone several months of training in France arrived in Ukraine.
