First $2 billion PURL package already underway as 7 more countries seek to join - Ukraine's MFA

The first $2 billion package of the PURL program is already being implemented. Seven more countries want to join the program, says Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha at a press conference with European diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas.
“Today, we have six countries that have contributed specific amounts to fund and continue this program. And as of today, we can say that seven more countries intend to participate with specific contributions to this program,” Sybiha said.
He added that the next steps include the military and the Ministry of Defense. In particular, a meeting of EU defense ministers.
“We are expecting Ramstein. So, I think these are good platforms where this topic will be discussed and practical results can be expected,” he said.
What is PURL
The PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) mechanism is a joint initiative of the US and NATO created to accelerate the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Under the program, Kyiv compiles a list of priority weapons needs and submits it to its allies.
Partner countries finance the purchase of American weapons that meet these needs. The funds are transferred to a special NATO account, after which the weapons are purchased directly from the US.
In September, the administration of US President Donald Trump approved the first two packages of military aid to Ukraine under the PURL program.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects European countries to allocate €1 billion per month for the purchase of American weapons within the PURL mechanism.
