Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 30: +1,400 troops and 59 artillery systems

Ukraine's military reported further Russian losses over the past day, including personnel and military hardware, as it released its latest daily estimate of Moscow's battlefield casualties.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 30, 2026 are estimated to be:

- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,248 (+7)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,614 (+6)

Frontline situation
Ukraine is seeing a sustained slowdown in Russian advances, according to presidential official Pavlo Palisa, who said the trend gives Kyiv “limited optimism” as the military prepares further active operations along the roughly 1,200-kilometer front line.
Meanwhile, Ukraine could enter a new phase of the war by intensifying long-range strikes against strategic targets and infrastructure inside Russia, according to presidential official Pavlo Palisa.
