On the night of September 5, 2024, Russians attacked Ukraine with:
- One Iskander-M ballistic missile;
- 78 Shahed-type strike drones.
Aviation, missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire teams from the Ukrainian Air and Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack. In total, 60 drones were destroyed. Notably, two UAVs returned to Russia, while another flew into Belarus.
Meanwhile, the monitoring channel Belaruski Hajun reported that military forces in the Gomel region of Belarus were shooting down enemy Shaheds. Later, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense confirmed this information but did not label the drone as "Russian."
It is also worth noting that this is not the first time Russian terrorist UAVs have crossed into Belarusian territory.
