A kamikaze drone attacked an oil depot in Russia's Voronezh region, igniting a fire at the site, according to Russian media.

Residents reported the strike targeted the Annanefteprodukt LLC oil depot in the town of Anna.

Hours earlier, the governor had warned of a potential drone attack in the region.

Later, Alexander Gusev, the Governor of the Voronezh region, reported on Telegram that electronic warfare systems allegedly "suppressed Ukrainian drones in the Anninsky district, with one drone crashing into the territory of an oil depot."

The Russian official claimed there was a fire in an empty tank, stating that no one was injured and that fire crews were on the scene.

He added that the "drone attack threat level remains in effect" in the region.

Drone attacks in Russia

In recent months, Russia has faced a surge of drone attacks targeting military infrastructure, oil refineries, and depots.

On the night of October 3, strike drones hit the Borisoglebsk airfield in the Voronezh region, where guided bombs and Su-35 and Su-34 fighter jets are stored, igniting several fires.

At the end of September, Ukrainian forces struck the Kotluban military arsenal in the Volgograd region shortly after a shipment of Iranian missiles arrived.

Explosions and fires also occurred at the port in the city of Azov, Rostov region, on the night of September 23.
