A series of explosions rang out in Odesa during the night of December 12, following reports that groups of Russian drones were heading toward the region, according to Suspilne on Telegram.

“Explosions were heard in Odesa. More explosions in Odesa,” the outlet reported.

About an hour earlier, an air-raid alert had been declared in the region, and the military reported the movement of groups of Russian strike drones.

“At 1:08 a.m., for example, the Air Force reported: Enemy strike UAVs from the Black Sea area are heading toward the south of the Odesa region.”

Local Telegram channels report impacts and are posting videos of the aftermath of the attack, including reports of fires.

Previous attacks on the region and the city

The day before, Russian forces attacked an energy facility in the Odesa region. Several fires broke out as a result of the strike.

Two private houses were damaged, and the windows and doors of an administrative building were blown out. The fires that erupted were quickly extinguished by rescuers. No information about casualties or injuries was reported.

RBC-Ukraine also wrote that on the night of November 27, the Odesa region came under attack from Russian drones. The attack damaged two residential buildings, an equestrian club, and a gas station.
