Powerful explosions are rocking Odesa as the city is being attacked by Russian strike drones, reports Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

At 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time, an air raid warning was issued for the city. Later, the Ukrainian Air Forces reported a group of Shahed drones approaching Odesa from the Black Sea.

Shortly after, powerful explosions were heard throughout the city.

"Odesa and the surrounding area, stay in shelters! The enemy is attacking with strike drones!" Kiper wrote.

At 3:43 a.m., the city was rocked by repeated explosions.

At 04:03, the air raid alert was lifted in Odesa and the Odesa region.

The outlet Suspilne reports a fire in the city following the explosions.

Russian drone attacks

The previous large-scale UAV strike on Odesa occurred on the evening of May 25. Numerous explosions were heard across the city and region, and air defense forces were active.

On the night of May 26, Russian Shahed drones destroyed a residential building and a gas pipeline in the Odesa region.

On the night of June 3, the Russian forces launched attack drones toward Ukraine.

In Chernihiv, kamikaze drone strikes have resulted in civilian casualties.
