Explosions and fire rock Russia's Budyonnovsk as locals report chemical plant blaze

In the city of Budyonnovsk, Stavropol Krai, Russia, a chemical plant, Stavrolen, is reportedly on fire, according to Russian social media sources.
Around 2:00 a.m., a drone threat alert was issued across Stavropol Krai.
Shortly afterward, eyewitnesses in local online communities began reporting explosions in Budyonnovsk. Residents counted several blasts occurring over a 15-minute period.
Within minutes, photos and videos of a massive blaze in the sky over the city began circulating online.
Local Telegram channels suggest that the Stavrolen chemical plant is on fire - a major producer of chemical products, including polyethylene and benzene.
The pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ has collected several photos and videos of the large-scale fire.
Attacks on Budyonnovsk
As previously reported, an earlier attack on Budyonnovsk in Stavropol Krai, Russia, occurred on the night of November 12. At that time, explosions were also heard amid an announced air raid alert.
Residents were advised to shelter in a room between two walls or in a windowless area. Warnings were also issued about possible mobile internet restrictions and disruptions to digital terrestrial TV signals.
In the morning, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that four drones had been shot down over Stavropol Krai.
Meanwhile, some local channels reported that the Stavrolen plant was under attack.
According to RBC-Ukraine, unidentified drones had previously targeted the Stavrolen enterprise in Stavropol Krai on the evening of October 28.
At the same time, Russians reported unknown drones heading toward Moscow. Russian media reported temporary restrictions at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports in Moscow.
That same night, similar restrictions were imposed at airports in Vladikavkaz, Grozny, and Samara.
