Russia reports drone attack in Budyonnovsk, Stavropol region

Around midnight, a drone danger alert was declared in Budyonnovsk.

Local residents were advised to take shelter in a room between two walls or in a windowless space. They were also warned about possible disruptions to mobile internet service and interruptions in digital terrestrial television reception.

After that, local residents began reporting explosions.

The pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Exilenova+ published photos and videos of the explosion and the glow in the sky.

A few hours later, the regional governor, Vladimir Vladimirov, confirmed that air defense forces had repelled an attack by unidentified drones over the Budyonnovsk district of the Stavropol region. According to him, debris from the downed drones caused a fire in the city's industrial zone.

In the morning, the Russian Ministry of Defense also reported that four drones had been shot down over the Stavropol region.

Meanwhile, some local public channels reported that the target of the attack was the Stavrolen plant — a major producer of chemical products, including polyethylene and benzene.

Attacks by unidentified drones on Russian cities

Unidentified drones attacked the Stavrolen plant in the Stavropol region on the evening of October 28.

At the same time, Russians complained that unidentified drones were flying toward Moscow. Russian media reported that operations at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports in Moscow were temporarily restricted.

That same night, restrictions were also introduced at airports in Vladikavkaz, Grozny, and Samara.

Russian public channels also reported other incidents. In particular, at 12:20 a.m. local time, residents of the city of Novospasskoye in the Ulyanovsk region reported hearing the sounds of nearby explosions.
