Explosion in Rostov-on-Don on September 7 occurred near headquarters of Southern Military District
In Rostov-on-Don, Russia, near the headquarters of the Southern Military District (SMD), an explosion occurred, followed by a fire, according to Baza.
Eyewitnesses report that the incident occurred on Pushkinskaya Street, two blocks away from the Southern Military District headquarters. According to several Telegram channels, there were three explosions heard in the city, followed by a fire.
In the published video, you can see firefighters extinguishing a heavily damaged car that was affected by the explosion and fire. The video was removed shortly after being posted.
The authorities have claimed the destruction of the drone
The governor of the Rostov region in Russia, Vasily Golubev, announced that around 3:00 AM in Rostov-on-Don, the air defense system was activated, resulting in the downing of a lethal drone. The exact details of the impact on the ground are being clarified.
Later, he added that, according to updated information, two UAVs were downed by air defense systems, with one falling on the western outskirts of Rostov and the other in the city center near Pushkinska Street, 42.
As a result, several cars were damaged, and one person was injured but refused hospitalization.

According to rescuers, as a result of the explosion and fire, the facades of three buildings were damaged, along with several cars. One person sought medical assistance for cuts to their legs.
