European leaders seek to finalize a peace plan for Ukraine quickly. Details of the plan are not yet disclosed, Reuters reports.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron held separate calls with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after last Friday’s Oval Office meeting between the US and Ukrainian leaders, which led to the suspension of US military aid to Kyiv.

The report notes that tensions between the US and Ukraine have intensified efforts by the UK and France to consolidate ideas for a peace plan. The initial framework would include a short-term ceasefire, later expanding to broader security guarantees. However, both the UK and France emphasized that US involvement would be essential for future guarantees.

"We're looking at putting this plan together in days and not weeks," a senior European diplomat told Reuters.

The plan’s details remain undisclosed, but another European diplomat said military leadership intends to finalize its strategic aspects within the next week.

One proposed option, according to anonymous sources, is a partial one-month ceasefire covering air and naval attacks, as well as strikes on energy infrastructure, but excluding ground combat. The ceasefire would be supported by France, the UK, and a coalition of willing nations.

Today, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine and Europe are preparing an initial action plan to establish a just and sustainable peace, which is expected to be ready soon.

Earlier, Zelenskyy outlined potential first steps toward conflict resolution, including the release of prisoners, an immediate ceasefire in the air (prohibiting missile strikes, long-range drones, and attacks on civilian infrastructure) and halting naval combat, if Russia does the same.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine hopes to move quickly through the next phases and secure a strong final agreement with the US.
