Europe rushes to find venue for potential Trump–Zelenskyy–Putin summit — Sky News

European allies are looking for possible venues for a trilateral meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump, and Vladimir Putin, Sky News reports.
"Allies are actively evaluating several European locations for a possible meeting between Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Vladimir Putin," the agency reports, citing its sources in the EU.
The holding of a trilateral meeting depends on how the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska goes, but allies agree that the venue for the second round of talks should be in Europe.
"If tomorrow's meeting is successful, EU and US leaders are expected to hold a telephone call on Saturday afternoon regarding the next meeting between the three leaders," Sky News reports.
According to the agency, Zelenskyy previously proposed Rome as the meeting place, but France, Finland, Spain, and Germany are proposing Geneva as a more neutral location.
Trump and Putin negotiations
Earlier, Donald Trump announced a planned meeting with Vladimir Putin, which will take place on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city.
During the meeting, Putin may put forward a condition to Trump – recognition of the occupied Ukrainian territories as part of Russia in exchange for the withdrawal of troops from other regions.
The American leader also stressed that negotiations on territorial issues will only take place in the presence of Volodymyr Zelensky during the next meeting.
At the same time, if the negotiations are successful, a trilateral meeting may take place at the end of next week, in which both Putin and Zelenskyy will also participate.
According to sources at RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to meet with Russia's Vladimir Putin in any format.
