The member countries of the Coalition of the Willing are divided on the issue of providing security guarantees for Ukraine, which also involves the deployment of troops on Ukrainian territory, according to Financial Times.

According to two people familiar with the discussions, the coalition is roughly divided into three groups.

One group is ready to deploy troops on Ukrainian territory, such as Britain; another is opposed to this, such as Italy; and the majority, including Germany, has not yet made up its mind.

At the same time, an anonymous official from the Elysée Palace said that countries willing and able to provide security guarantees have completed the technical work.

The official said that they had enough contributions that day to be able to tell the Americans that they were ready to assume their responsibilities, provided that the Americans assumed theirs.

On September 4, a meeting of the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing will be held in Paris to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine. After the summit, a telephone conversation between the leaders and US President Donald Trump is planned.

Washington is considering providing air support as part of its security guarantees for Ukraine, but there is no talk of deploying US troops.

The Coalition of the Willing includes about 30 mainly European countries that are ready to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces and deploy troops in Ukraine after a peace agreement with Moscow.
