EU strengthens Kremlin, failing to provide adequate aid to Ukraine, Lithuania's MFA says
The European Union strengthens the Kremlin without providing sufficient assistance to Ukraine, states the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis.
He emphasizes that many countries are currently in an election year, which may lead to a decrease in attention towards Ukraine.
"The West provides military and financial support to Ukraine so that it can defend itself. Despite the significant support, currently, it is enough to support the front line, but it is far from Ukraine's strategic goal of reclaiming territories and strengthening its position after victories on the battlefield. By not assisting Ukraine sufficiently, we are empowering the Kremlin," the minister states.
Lithuania's assistance to Ukraine
It was recently announced that damaged Leopard tanks, which suffered during combat operations in Ukraine, would be repaired in Lithuania.
Additionally, Lithuania will allocate approximately 340 million euros in aid to Ukraine next year. Part of the funds will be used for the education sector.
A month ago, Lithuania provided sets of radar equipment for the needs of the Ukrainian Naval Forces.
