EU leaders to convene in Paris for discussions on aid to Ukraine
President of France Emmanuel Macron has invited European leaders to Paris next week to discuss proposals regarding assistance to war-torn Ukraine, stated President of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
"President Macron invited a number of European leaders in a rather ad hoc manner to talk about new proposals and solutions for Ukraine. In addition to Poland, leaders of many countries are invited," said Duda.
EU assistance for Ukraine
The European Union will provide humanitarian aid amounting to 83 million euros to support those affected by the war. The majority of the funds have been allocated to Ukraine.
During the summit on February 1, EU leaders approved the allocation of 50 billion euros for Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program for the years 2024-2027.
Ukraine expects to receive the first payment under the program, amounting to 4.5 billion euros, in March.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that our country aims to receive 18 billion euros in the first two years of the program.
