Estonia compares Russian strikes on Ukraine to Nazi bombing of London

A series of massive Russian strikes on Ukraine resembles the Nazi bombing of London during World War II and demands a response from the West, stated Estonian Foreign Ministry Chancellor Jonatan Vseviov, ERR reports.
According to the senior official, Putin is trying to break Ukrainians psychologically, just as Hitler once tried to crush the spirit of Londoners.
"The Nazis systematically bombed London to convince the British people that there was no hope. These were attacks aimed at destroying hope. They failed," Vseviov said.
He emphasized that, just like Hitler's plan failed, the Russian President will also not succeed in breaking Ukrainians. In his words, Ukrainians continue to show remarkable resistance.
"Russia consistently underestimates Ukrainians' capacity to resist," the Estonian diplomat stressed.
Vseviov also noted that the events of the past weekend, namely, Russia's large-scale missile attacks on Ukraine, clearly show that there is no peace process in sight.
The Estonian Foreign Ministry chancellor added that, in his view, there is currently only one path forward: increased pressure on Russia and even greater support for Ukraine.
"Concrete actions, not just words, must make it clear to Putin that time is not on his side. Without that, there can be no breakthrough in negotiations," Vseviov said.
He also noted that Estonia supports tougher sanctions on Russia and fully backs the European Union's adoption of the 18th sanctions package.
On the night of May 26, for the third time since the peace talks in Türkiye, Ukraine was under Russia's massive combined attack.
On the night of May 24, Russian troops carried out one of the largest combined attacks on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The attack included the simultaneous use of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and attack drones. In total, 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 attack drones were launched at Ukraine that night.
