Earthquake occurs near a key nuclear facility in Iran

An earthquake occurred in Iran today, March 21, during the day. It was recorded in the area of a nuclear facility, which is the country's main uranium enrichment site, according to Newsweek.
According to the Iranian Seismological Center, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred near the city of Isfahan in central Iran. A second tremor, with a magnitude of 4.5, was recorded a few hours later, around 1:00 p.m. local time.
Iranian media reported that there were no casualties as a result of the earthquake. At the same time, the nuclear facility was not damaged.
The head of the crisis management department of Isfahan province, Reza Moussavi, stated that emergency response teams are currently assessing the affected areas.
It is worth noting that the Natanz nuclear facility has repeatedly been the target of sabotage. In particular, in July 2020, a powerful explosion occurred at a centrifuge assembly plant, causing significant damage. Iranian officials later described it as an act of sabotage.
Consultations on Iran
Yesterday, March 20, the media reported that the US and Israel would hold consultations on Iran's nuclear program. High-ranking officials from both countries are expected to participate in the discussions.
According to journalists, US President Donald Trump wants Iran to agree to a new nuclear deal within two months.
