Drone attacks on Russia
Throughout 2024, regions of Russia bordering Ukraine have been repeatedly targeted by unidentified strike drones. The drones typically hit military facilities, weapon depots, oil storage sites, and oil refineries.
On the morning of December 15, the capital of Chechnya, Grozny, was attacked by strike drones. The drones struck buildings of the Chechen special forces regiment and the OMON.
It was later confirmed that the drones that attacked Grozny were from Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The UAVs were based on the Ukrainian-made sports aircraft Aeroprakt A-22.
On the night of December 14, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Oryol. Drones attacked an oil depot, causing a fire on the site.
