Russia’s Volgograd region was attacked by unidentified drones on the night of January 10, resulting in a fire at an oil depot, according to Russian media and Andrey Bocharov.

"In the Oktyabrsky district, a fire broke out at an oil depot as a result of falling UAV debris. Firefighters and emergency services, as well as municipal staff, are working at the scene," Andrey Bocharov said.

Authorities also warned that residents of nearby buildings may be evacuated.

"If evacuation is required, a temporary accommodation center has been prepared at Oktyabrskaya School No. 2. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," the governor added.

This is not the first drone attack in Russia overnight. Missile and drone alerts were also reported in Krasnodar Krai, where explosions were heard. Preliminary reports suggested an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban was targeted.

At the same time, the Volgograd region has been attacked by drones repeatedly. At the end of last month, drones struck the Lukoil–Volgograd Refinery, triggering a fire.

Previously, reports also noted a significant decline in Russian oil exports, amid Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s oil infrastructure, including refineries, pipelines, ports, and tankers.
