Drones attacked from five directions: Ukraine's Air Force details Russia's overnight assault

On the night of February 8, Russia attacked Ukraine with 101 strike drones launched from five directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 69 enemy UAVs, according to the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on February 7 until the morning of February 8, Russian forces launched 101 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as other UAV models, from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo in Russia. About 70 of them were Shahed drones.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 8:30 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 69 enemy drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types, in the north, south, and east of the country.
A total of 32 strike drones hit targets at 13 locations, and falling debris was recorded at one location.
"The attack is ongoing, enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.
Shelling of Ukraine
It should be recalled that late in the evening of February 7, Russian occupation forces once again attacked civilians in Kherson. The city's Korabelnyi district came under a massive strike from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
As a result of the enemy attack, three women sustained injuries of varying severity.
At dawn on February 8, Russian forces struck Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. The attack left one person dead and others injured, and damaged residential buildings.
The Zaporizhzhia region also endured one of the most intense drone attacks in recent times.
