Nearly 300 drones in one day: Russia rains fire on Zaporizhzhia, fatality reported

Zaporizhzhia region endured one of the most intense drone attacks in recent months, according to the Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.
According to regional authorities, the occupiers carried out 577 strikes on the region and launched 297 drones of various types at populated areas, turning them into zones of constant danger.
Unfortunately, the terror did not pass without casualties. As Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov reported, as a result of enemy attacks on the Zaporizhzhia and Polohy districts:
- 1 person was killed;
- 8 civilians were injured with varying degrees of severity.
The occupiers used a tactic of massive combined shelling.
Vilniansk, Huliaipole, Stepnohirsk, and Novomykolaivka suffered the most from drone attacks (mainly FPV drones).
In addition to unmanned aerial vehicles, the enemy actively used other weapons:
- Russian aviation carried out 24 strikes on villages and towns, including Zhovti Kruchi, Huliaipilske, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Vozdvyzhivka, Shyroke, and Verkhnia Tersa;
- Huliaipole, Mali Shcherbaky, and Sviatopetrivka came under fire from multiple launch rocket systems;
- Another 253 artillery strikes hit residential neighborhoods and the outskirts of dozens of communities, including Prymorske, Stepove, Shcherbaky, Varvarivka, and Zelene.
As a result of the attacks, at least 67 reports were received of damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and civilian infrastructure facilities.
Emergency services are currently working at the strike sites, documenting the consequences of the shelling and providing assistance to the affected residents.
Attacks in other regions
On the night of February 8, the Russian army shelled Kherson with multiple launch rocket systems. At least six civilians were injured, large-scale fires broke out in the city, and serious damage to residential and warehouse buildings was recorded.
