Drone debris was discovered in Romania following an overnight Russian attack on Ukraine. An electricity pole and an extension to a residential building were damaged, according to the press service of the Romanian Ministry of National Defence.

According to the ministry, Romanian defense radars detected drones approaching the country's airspace overnight.

Two British Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon jets were scrambled at 2 a.m. from the Fetești air base.

Residents in Tulcea County received an air alert via the RO-ALERT system at 02:14.

The Eurofighter Typhoon jets detected a radar contact with a target 1.5 km from Reni, over Ukrainian territory, and pilots were authorized to engage the drones.

Residents of the city of Galați reported an object falling at 02:31 via emergency services. There were no casualties, but property damage was recorded.

Preliminary assessments show damage to an outbuilding in a household and an electricity pole, with no major destruction.

Fragments of drones were found in several locations in the area, which was cordoned off by Romanian police and Ministry of Defence forces.

The Romanian Ministry of Defence strongly condemned Russia's irresponsible actions and stressed that they represent a new challenge to regional security and stability in the Black Sea area.

"Such incidents demonstrate the Russian Federation's disregard for international law and endanger not only the safety of Romanian citizens but also NATO collective security," the ministry stated.

April 25 attack on Ukraine

As a reminder, on the night of April 25, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure using attack drones and missiles.

The main direction of the attack was Dnipro. Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Kyiv regions were also targeted.

In Dnipro, more than 20 people were injured as a result of the enemy attack, including a 9-year-old boy.

In addition, three people were killed. People may still be trapped under the rubble.

As a result of the strikes, a four-story residential building was partially destroyed. An industrial facility, private houses, vehicles, and a shop were also damaged.

The enemy also carried out several strikes on the Kyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kharkiv. One of the impacts occurred near a residential building.

Transport infrastructure was affected — a public transport stop was destroyed and a gas pipeline was damaged.

Impacts were also recorded in the Saltivskyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts, where private houses were damaged and fires broke out.

In addition, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy was injured in the Nemyshlianskyi district as a result of an enemy drone strike. The child was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction, and medics provided all necessary assistance.
