Doctor reveals causes of silent health issue many patients avoid discussing
Urinary incontinence is a condition characterized by the involuntary release of urine. This delicate issue is most commonly experienced by women due to anatomical features, but men also suffer from it, especially in old age.
RBC-Ukraine discusses the causes of this problem, according to insights from family doctor Mykhailo Tsiurak on Instagram.
Causes of urinary incontinence in adulthood:
- Late-term pregnancy (typically, this incontinence disappears after childbirth);
- Chronic diseases of the reproductive organs (in women - uterine prolapse, in men - prostate adenoma);
- Diabetes mellitus;
- Injuries and tumors of the genitourinary system;
- Past surgeries on the urinary bladder;
- Neurological diseases: Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke;
- Senile dementia;
- Obesity.
Can urinary incontinence occur normally?
The doctor explains that occasional urinary incontinence can happen during activities such as sneezing, laughter, lifting heavy objects, or squatting (when the bladder is full at the time).
However, if such incidents happen repeatedly, it is necessary to consult a doctor!
By the way, the doctor listed six signs of colon cancer that you may not notice.
Earlier, it became known that a gynecologist named procedures that actually harm women.
