Doctor Mike Hansen, working in the U.S., has identified six signs of colon cancer that people may not notice or consciously ignore. However, paying attention to these symptoms is crucial.

How to recognize colon cancer, according to Dr. Mike Hansen.

"Colon cancer often starts as small, noncancerous polyps that can transform into cancer over time. Early detection is key to successful treatment, so it's important to be aware of the warning signs," emphasized the doctor.

Main signs of colorectal cancer

An expert named six warning symptoms that should never be ignored:

  • change in bowel habits - the emergence of constipation or diarrhea, especially if this problem persists for several weeks, may indicate the need to see a doctor
  • blood in the stool - if you notice an alarming sign, it should not be ignored; the color of the stools can become not only red but also burgundy or even black
  • persistent abdominal discomfort - pain, cramps, or bloating should not be dismissed as poor nutrition; attention should be paid to these symptoms
  • feeling of incomplete emptying - according to the doctor, when you feel like the bowel is constantly full, it is a worrisome sign
  • constant weakness or fatigue - of course, this symptom can also indicate other problems, but in combination with other signs, it may signal oncology
  • sudden weight loss - if you are not on a diet and are not intentionally losing weight, it could be a sign of illness

"If you experience any of these warning signs, it's important to seek medical attention. Regular screening for colon cancer can also help detect the cancer at an early stage when it's most treatable," explained the doctor.

"Furthermore, colon cancer is one of the 13 obesity-related cancers. The more insulin resistance you have, the higher the likelihood of developing an obesity-related cancer, especially colon cancer," he emphasized.

The doctor also mentioned that to prevent cancer, one should monitor health, eat a balanced diet, engage in regular physical activity, and avoid processed meats. Additionally, it's essential to refrain from smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.

Earlier, it became known that a gynecologist identified procedures that are harmful to women.

In addition, recently, we listed the early signs of cervical cancer that are forbidden to ignore.
