Signs of cervical cancer
- Appearance of bleeding - if you notice bleeding after sex or on days when there is no menstruation, and especially if it occurs during menopause, consult a doctor.
- Changes in usual discharge - do not ignore this symptom, especially if the discharge becomes thick or changes color or odor, and becomes bloody.
- Pain during sex - the onset of unpleasant sensations should be a cause for concern.
- Lower back pain - if your back suddenly starts to hurt, and the discomfort persists for several weeks, it is advisable to undergo an examination. Of course, these signs may indicate something else and cannot guarantee the presence of cancer 100%.
A clear diagnosis is made exclusively by a doctor, so it is important not to ignore health problems - consult specialists immediately.
Factors that can increase the risk of cervical cancer
According to experts, this cancer is most commonly diagnosed in women over 45. Almost in all cases, patients are found to have human papillomavirus (HPV). However, there are certain factors that can also increase the risk of cancer. These include:
- Smoking
- Early onset of sexual activity
- Having a high number of sexual partners
- Presence of infections.
To timely detect cancer, doctors recommend regularly visiting a gynecologist, undergoing cervical cancer screening, and taking smears.
