Poland’s Foreign Ministry cannot confirm that Russian drones were heading for NATO’s logistics hub in Rzeszów during the overnight attack on September 10, said Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski during a joint press conference with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

"I cannot confirm or deny this, because the drones were shot down. I think this is a matter for military experts to comment on. I understand there may be a lot of speculation around it, but I don’t have an answer," Sikorski said.

He noted that the intrusion of Russian drones into Polish airspace was a "moment of truth."

"Because they entered not only from Ukraine, but also from Belarus, and the process lasted seven hours," the Polish Foreign Minister added.

Drone attack on Poland

During the overnight attack on Ukraine on September 10, about 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace, most of them from Belarus. Air defenses managed to shoot down four UAVs.

According to the latest information, debris from 16 Russian drones that entered Poland during the attack was found on its territory. One drone crashed on a military base. Wreckage of the downed drones was found in 11 Polish settlements.

In response to the Russian attack, NATO invoked Article 4, which allows member states to discuss the situation with allies in the North Atlantic Council.

According to media reports, Russia may have attempted to strike a NATO base in Poland, as some of the drones were flying in its direction.
