The Danish government sees no problem with Ukraine using Danish weapons during the operation in the Kursk region. After all, it is part of self-defense, stated the head of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

According to him, Denmark's support for Ukraine remains unchanged despite the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in the Kursk region.

“Self-defense may well include entering the aggressor's territory,” he says. “If, as part of this, you attack the infrastructure or military facilities of the attacking party, it is completely within the rules of war,” Rasmussen said.

He emphasized that the use of Danish weapons on Russian territory is also within the rules.

“You cannot set a limit that weapons can only be used on Ukrainian territory,” he said.

Denmark's assistance to Ukraine

Since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Denmark has been providing military support and constantly preparing new aid packages for the Ukrainian military.

Earlier, Denmark and Germany delivered eight more Leopard 1A5 battle tanks to Ukraine as part of military aid. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that Ukraine should be provided with all the air defense systems that Denmark currently has at its disposal.

Today, the Danish government announced a new aid package worth $116 million to support Ukraine's military needs. It is aimed at meeting both the short-term and long-term defense needs of Ukraine.
