Deep inside Russia: Ukraine reveals new wave of strikes on airfields, warship and oil facilities

The operation is part of a 40-day campaign by Ukraine's Security Service approved by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The goal of the campaign is to reduce Russia's military and economic potential.

Over the past week, the service targeted military facilities, fuel and energy infrastructure, air defense systems, logistics and naval assets of the aggressor state.

Airfields and air defense systems

In temporarily occupied Crimea and Russia's Rostov region, Ukraine's Security Service struck:

• Belbek military airfield in Crimea, disabling a Nebo-U long-range radar system;

• Saky military airfield in Crimea, hitting a fuel and lubricant storage tank;

• A 92N6E Grave Stone multifunctional radar station and its antenna tower, part of the S-400 Triumf air defense missile system in Rostov-on-Don;

• A Tor-M2 air defense missile system and a Pole-21 electronic warfare system, also in Rostov-on-Don, both of which were completely destroyed;

• Drone warehouses and workshops in the settlement of Malynivka in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region and in Yany Kapu, Crimea.

Naval targets and military logistics

The following maritime targets were also struck:

• A Project 12418 Molniya missile boat in the Caspian Sea;

• Two cargo vessels under international sanctions that were used to transport military cargo between Iran and Russia.

Oil and energy infrastructure

Ukraine's Security Service continues targeting sources of funding for Russia's war effort. The following facilities were hit:

• An offshore oil production platform at the Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea, an important part of Russia's energy infrastructure;

• The Subkhankulovo line production dispatch station in Bashkortostan. Long-range drones operated by Ukraine's Security Service flew about 1,350 kilometers and struck the tank farm at the oil pumping station;

• The Novospassky mini oil refinery in Ulyanovsk region. Drones flew about 900 kilometers, and the facility's tank farm caught fire after the strike;

• The First Plant mini oil refinery in Kaluga region, another facility supplying fuel to Russia's military.

Federal Security Service facilities

Ukraine's Security Service also targeted facilities used by Russia's Federal Security Service:

• A coordination center and deployment site of Federal Security Service personnel in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region. Thirteen drones operated by Ukraine's Security Service struck the target. According to preliminary estimates, about 100 Federal Security Service personnel may have been present at the site;

• Deployment sites of the Federal Security Service in the settlement of Shchaslyvtseve in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region and in Yurivka, Donetsk region.

Timeline of the latest strikes on Russia

Meanwhile, fighters from the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense destroyed a launcher and radar belonging to an S-400 air defense missile system in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The intelligence officers destroyed the equipment at its combat position during the night of July 26.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke about what he described as the Kremlin's latest mobilization plans.

According to him, Russia plans to mobilize between 300,000 and 500,000 people after the State Duma elections, expected in late September or early October.

Ukraine's Defense Forces also struck Russian oil facilities located about 1,300 kilometers from the border. The targets included an export terminal in the Rostov region and oil facilities in the Yaroslavl region and Udmurtia.
