The death toll from Russia’s massive attack on Dnipro has risen to five. Rescuers found a man’s body under the rubble, according to Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Hanzha.
"The body of a 74-year-old man has just been found under the rubble of a house in Dnipro destroyed by the enemy. The overnight Russian attack claimed the lives of five people — three women and two men," Hanzha stated.
Strikes on Dnipro were first reported after 3 a.m., with immediate reports of fires at several locations.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration said the attack damaged a five-story apartment building in the city, while a private house was partially destroyed.
A building of the Dnipro Art Museum was damaged during Russia’s massive overnight attack on April 16. Not a single window remained intact, though the exhibits were not damaged.
Mass attack on Ukraine
Russia launched hundreds of aerial weapons at Ukraine, including drones and missiles. The consequences of the large-scale attack were recorded in nine regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia used 703 aerial targets over the course of the day — 44 missiles and 659 drones. The attack came in two waves, with air defenses destroying or neutralizing 667 of the targets.
It is also noted that a key feature of the attack was the use of a large number of ballistic missiles — 19 Iskander-M/S-400 missiles were launched at four regions.
