On Tuesday, May 5, Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro, leaving many people dead and injured. It was a "terrorist strike" with no military purpose, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Seven people are currently in hospitals after being injured in the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia, while some others are still undergoing the necessary medical examinations. A total of 37 people have been affected," the President wrote.

According to him, Russian forces used guided aerial bombs to hit civilian infrastructure in the city. He added that Russian forces "show no restraint in destroying human life."

"This was an absolutely cynical terrorist strike, with no military justification whatsoever. Not a single day passes without such Russian attacks on our cities and villages. This one strike alone has already claimed 12 lives," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President added that Russia struck Dnipro in the evening, with four deaths confirmed so far.

"It is essential that Russia is forced to end this war. We need silence from such strikes and all others like them every single day, not just for a few hours somewhere out there for 'celebrations,'" Zelenskyy said.

Earlier today, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs. As of now, 12 people are reported dead, and 37 are injured. A day of mourning has been declared in the city for May 6.

In addition, Russian forces struck Kramatorsk with high-explosive bombs. The strikes hit the city center, where civilians were present. So far, five people are reported dead and 12 injured.

Russian forces also carried out drone strikes on Chernihiv using Shahed-type attack drones. One of the drones hit the central part of the city.

An administrative building and several vehicles were damaged. In addition, three people sought medical assistance for blast injuries.
