Russia strikes Ukraine's Chernihiv downtown: Casualties and damage reported

The Russians struck the center of Chernihiv with a strike drone. An administrative building and several vehicles were damaged. There are casualties, according to Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, and Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration.
Russian Shahed strikes city center
The Russians attacked Chernihiv with a Shahed-type strike drone. The drone struck the central part of the city.
As a result of the Russian strike:
- An administrative building was damaged
- Vehicles were damaged
- Three people sought medical attention for blast injuries (these are injuries caused by a blast wave that can affect hearing, lungs, and internal organs).

There were no fatalities.
All emergency services are working at the site of the strike. Medical personnel are providing necessary assistance to the injured.

"Respond to air raid sirens. Russia is treacherous," Viacheslav Chaus urges residents.
On the night of May 5, the Russians launched a massive strike on the Poltava, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions, as well as Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro. As of this morning, there are five fatalities and 37 injuries.
Russians struck rescue workers in the Poltava region again. This occurred after they had been clearing up the aftermath of a Russian strike at a gas production facility.
