Combined strikes on Kyiv region: Consequences of Russian attack
In the early hours of August 6, Russian occupiers launched an attack on the Kyiv region using missiles and strike drones. The region's air defense systems were activated and successfully intercepted the hostile targets, according to the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA)
Reports indicate that no residential or critical infrastructure objects were hit, and there were no casualties. Emergency response teams are currently working at the sites where the wreckage of downed enemy targets fell.
As of 8:00 AM, the following damages have been recorded:
- An apartment building sustained damage, with windows on the first and second floors (where non-residential premises are located) shattered;
- Two gas stations suffered broken windows and damaged facades;
- A multi-story office building experienced broken doors and windows, along with a damaged facade;
- Additionally, a forest ranger's house was damaged by the blast wave.
"There are no fires at the debris sites. All emergency services are continuing their work to address the aftermath of the enemy attack," KCMA states.
Russian attack on the night of August 6
It's worth noting that the enemy launched a coordinated attack on various regions of Ukraine on the night of August 6.
According to reports, the Russian aggressor deployed strike drones toward Kyiv. The air defense systems in the Kyiv region were active.
Despite the Russian occupiers' efforts, no destruction was recorded in Kyiv as a result of the night missile attack. There were no casualties in the capital either. The Russian forces likely used ballistic weapons such as the Iskander-M or KN-23.
Additionally, the enemy attacked Sumy overnight, where a series of explosions was reported.
Drones were also directed toward Odesa and the Khmelnytskyi region, with air defense systems engaged.
In the Mykolaiv region, fires broke out overnight due to the Shahed drones, causing damage to recreational facilities.
An enemy attack was also reported in Kharkiv, where explosions were heard throughout the city.
