Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 18: +940 troops and 43 artillery systems

Over the past day, from August 18 to 19, the Russians lost another 940 soldiers at the front. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed many enemy artillery systems, drones, and vehicles, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
The total combat losses of the Russian forces from February 24, 2022, to August 18, 2025, are approximately as follows:
- personnel - about 1,070,890 (+940)) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 11,118 (+2);
- troop-carrying AFVs - 23148 (+5);
- artillery systems - 31,632 (+43);
- MLRS - 1,469 (+1);
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,208;
- aircraft - 422;
- helicopters - 340;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 51,685 (+157)
- cruise missiles - 3,558;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 58,937 (+116);
- special equipment - 3,942).
Frontline situation
As of the evening of August 17, there were 127 combat clashes at the front during the day. A third of the battles took place in the Pokrovsk direction.
