Combat near Pokrovsk resumes with lower Russian troop numbers - Ukraine's Forces

The intensity of fighting in the Pokrovsk direction has resumed. However, the number of Russian troops and equipment has decreased, states Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Grouping of Troops.
According to Trehubov, during a brief pause, the number of combat engagements in this direction dropped sharply but then began to rise again.
In his view, this suggests that the Russian forces have recovered, although the intensity of the fighting has not reached the level seen in February.
The spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Grouping of Troops explained that this is because "there are physically fewer" enemy forces.
"There are fewer of them, and they have less equipment. The soldiers fighting in these areas say they are simply seeing fewer Russians at the moment. Although the intensity has partially resumed, this indicates that the Russians have suffered heavy losses. But they cannot abandon this direction because it still remains part of their plans to control this part of the Donetsk region," Trehubov said.
Situation in the Pokrovsk direction
Recently, military experts shared details with RBC-Ukraine regarding the situation in the Pokrovsk direction. According to them, the Russian army has come to a halt in this area.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian forces had managed to improve the situation around Pokrovsk. Through a series of counterattacks to the west, east, and south of the city, the Defense Forces were able to stop the advance of Russia’s exhausted troops.
We also reported that on March 22, Russian forces struck Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. The attack resulted in the deaths of three civilians.
