China launches new stealth fighter jet J-35 from aircraft carrier

The Chinese Shenyang J-35 stealth fighter has likely taken off for the first time using an electromagnetic catapult (EMALS) from the deck of the new Fujian aircraft carrier, according to Army Recognition.
According to the outlet, the fighter was launched as early as March this year. If these tests were indeed conducted, it could mark a turning point in the development of China's naval aviation. This would significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Chinese Navy.
China currently relies on the fourth-generation carrier-based J-15, a modernized version of the Soviet Su-27 (Su-33). The J-35, however, will provide China with significantly different capabilities, as unlike the J-15, it is stealthy.
If the tests were successful, China could soon equip its fleet with carrier-based fighters comparable to the American F-35C Lightning II.
Currently, Fujian is China's largest and most technologically advanced aircraft carrier, representing a significant technological leap compared to previous Liaoning and Shandong class carriers. It weighs between 80,000 and 85,000 tons and features three electromagnetic catapults. These catapults operate on an integrated electric propulsion system, providing a 30% greater launch efficiency compared to the US Navy's Ford-class carriers.
Although Fujian is not yet fully ready for service, its catapults can launch heavier aircraft such as the J-35, the KJ-600 surveillance plane, and the GJ-11 drone. Along with modern Type 055 destroyers capable of launching hypersonic missiles, this aircraft carrier is central to China's plans to develop an aviation combat group comparable to the American one.
Chinese fighter jets
Recently, a new, unknown aircraft was spotted in China, which, based on its appearance, could belong to the sixth generation of fighters. The published footage shows it flying alongside the Chengdu J-20, China's fifth-generation fighter, which is officially considered one of the most advanced combat aircraft in Beijing's fleet.
Soon after, China launched another new-generation fighter into the sky, designated J-36.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that, according to Pentagon data, China has significantly accelerated the modernization of its armed forces and is expanding its nuclear arsenal.
