Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine at the G7 summit tomorrow, June 17, CBC News reports.

The Canadian government has already allocated 2 billion Canadian dollars (about 1.5 billion US dollars) for military aid to Ukraine and the expansion of defense partnerships.

According to the outlet's sources, the government is expected to announce tomorrow how much money from this budget will go to Ukraine and what it will be used for.

Tomorrow, there will also be a bilateral meeting between the Prime Minister of Canada and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as a working breakfast focused on Ukraine, to which all leaders attending the summit are invited.

The summer G7 summit is set to take place in Kananaskis, Alberta. This marks the seventh time Canada has held the G7 presidency.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been invited to the G7 summit, which includes the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States.

According to Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyiv hopes for a meeting between Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the summit. The Ukrainian delegation worked on preparing for this meeting during its early June visit to Washington.

The Canadian Prime Minister noted that the G7 agenda includes discussions on a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and other conflict zones.
