Borrell called for urgent strengthening of air defense
High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has condemned the powerful strike on Kharkiv and expressed support for strengthening air defense systems to protect the city, according to his Twitter account.
The diplomat strongly condemned Russia's heinous attacks against Kharkiv city today, including a crowded mall, killing and wounding civilians.
He emphasized that all those responsible for these and other Russian war crimes will be held accountable.
"These systematic Russian crimes against civilians and civilian infrastructure stress again the need for Europe to urgently ramp up support for air defence: it saves lives and protects Ukrainian towns," Borrell wrote.

Shelling of Kharkiv on May 25
On Saturday, May 25, during the day, two guided aerial bombs struck the Epicenter hypermarket in Kharkiv. Approximately 200 people were inside the building at the time.
A massive fire broke out at the impact site. According to the latest information, 11 people died as a result of the attack.
Foreign officials and organizations sharply condemned the attack. The incident also drew a reaction from the United Nations.
