On July 2, power and internet outages were reported across parts of the Crimean Peninsula following Ukrainian Defense Forces' strikes on local electrical substations, the Crimean Wind reports.

According to the latest information, electricity was cut off in the western and northern parts of Crimea.

The partial blackout followed strikes on two major electrical substations in the Saky district, where large fires broke out after the attacks.

The affected facilities include:

  • The 220 kV Donuzlav substation, a key hub in Crimea's power grid;
  • The 110/35/10 kV Mityayevo substation, a major power distribution facility that reduces high-voltage electricity for regional networks.

Power outages have also been reported in the following cities and districts:

  • Armyansk;
  • Krasnoperekopsk;
  • Dzhankoi and the Dzhankoi district;
  • Yevpatoriya and the surrounding municipality;
  • Chornomorske district;
  • Saky district.

In addition, authorities introduced rolling blackouts in the Bakhchysarai district, where electricity is being supplied on a three-hours-on, three-hours-off schedule to balance the load on the grid.

Local residents report that dozens, if not hundreds, of Wildberries pickup points across Crimea have stopped operating. Notices posted at the locations say both electricity and internet service are unavailable.

Ukraine's overnight operation was not limited to Crimea's power infrastructure. During the same night, Ukrainian forces also struck one of Russia's largest oil refineries, which caught fire.

RBC-Ukraine has already published the first photos and videos from the strikes inside Russia on July 2.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces also successfully struck an oil refinery in Ufa and a military plant in Penza.
