Biden to innitiate giving 'unprecedented' support package to Israel
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, is planning to address Congress requesting the provision of an "unprecedented" support package for the defense of Israel, according to WSJ reporter Ken Thomas.
"Later this week I'm going to ask the United States Congress for an unprecedented support package for Israel's defense," said Biden.
Biden also emphasized that the United States intends to keep the Israeli air defense system Iron Dome "fully supplied." Additionally, the U.S. President announced the allocation of $100 million in aid to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank
"You don't live by the rules of terrorist. You live by the rule of law," said the President.
Biden's visit to Israel
Biden's visit to Israel is taking place against the backdrop of escalating concerns over the conflict, particularly after the strike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of at least 500 Palestinians according to official data.
However, Biden is confident that the strike on the hospital was not carried out by Israel. It's worth noting that, according to media reports, Israel has requested extraordinary military assistance from the U.S. amounting to $10 billion.
Concerns have arisen that support for Israel could lead to a reduction in aid to Ukraine. However, Biden has stated that the U.S. is the most powerful nation in the history of the world and has the ability and obligation to support both Israel and Ukraine.
