Biden discussing potential strikes on Iran's oil facilities with Israel
Israel is currently planning a response to Tehran's rocket attack. Relevant negotiations are underway with the United States, states US President Joe Biden.
US President Joe Biden stated that he is "discussing" Israeli strikes on Iranian oil facilities as a possible response to Tehran's rocket attack on Tuesday.
According to The Guardian, Biden's comments quickly led to a sharp increase in oil prices.
When asked if he would "allow" Israel to retaliate against Iran, Biden said they were merely "advising" Israel.
"First of all, we don’t ’allow’ Israel, we advise Israel. And there is nothing going to happen today."
It is worth noting that on Tuesday, Iran launched a rocket attack on Israel, firing nearly 200 ballistic missiles. The attack was intercepted by Israeli military forces in coordination with US destroyers.
Iran claimed that the attack was in response to the deaths of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, while Israel promised to retaliate. Reports indicated that Israeli authorities were considering strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. However, US President Joe Biden stated that the US does not support this option.
Analysts noted that Iran's attack was unsuccessful, and the destruction of the missiles demonstrated their ineffectiveness and low power.
