Biden did not lift restrictions for Ukraine on strikes against Russia
United States President Joe Biden has not lifted restrictions on Ukraine's strikes deep into Russia. Meanwhile, Britain is holding “delicate” talks with the White House, reports Voice of America.
“President Joe Biden on Sunday in Washington, answering a reporter's question whether he had decided to allow Ukraine to use long-range weapons, said no," the media says.
Delicate negotiations
According to British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, negotiations with the White House on allowing Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles in Russia are ongoing.
In a speech at the Labor Party conference in Liverpool, the minister added that the difficulties and challenges of the war in Ukraine would be even "deeper and harsher", especially in late 2025-2026 and beyond.
“So this is a critical time for nerve and guts and patience and for fortitude on behalf of allies who stand with Ukraine,” he said, adding that Kyiv's partners are discussing what else the country may need on the battlefield to hold the front line.
“I am not going to as foreign secretary, of course, comment on operational details because that can only aid Putin,” Lammy said. “But there is a very real-time discussion across allies about how we can support Ukraine as we head into winter."
Ukraine's strikes deep into Russia
Recently, Ukraine's allies have been actively discussing lifting restrictions on Ukraine's strikes into Russian territory using the weapons they have provided.
The Guardian reports that the US and the UK have already made a decision, but have not yet announced it publicly. There is currently no official confirmation of these rumors.
