Belgorod plunged into darkness again as missiles strike Luch thermal power station

On the evening of February 7, Russia's Belgorod city was hit by unidentified missile strikes, triggering a citywide blackout, according to Russian Telegram channels.

At around 7:00 PM local time, the Pepel Belgorod channel reported explosions in the city amid a missile attack alert. Shortly afterward, power outages were reported across Belgorod and the surrounding Belgorod district.

According to Pepel Belgorod, at least two strikes hit the Belgorod electrical substation on Storozhova Street, while the Luch thermal power plant was also targeted.
Meanwhile, Belgorod region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed that the attack struck energy infrastructure, causing damage. He added that this was reportedly the second such attack on the region in a single day.
Russian social media channels say the power supply in Belgorod has begun to be gradually restored.
Blackouts in Russia
Belgorod was also hit by a missile attack on the evening of February 5, which triggered widespread outages of electricity, heating, and water across the region.
A few days earlier, on February 3, a series of explosions was reported in the city, after which residents experienced power and water cut-offs.
Previously, on the night of January 25, blackouts were recorded in three Russian cities—Belgorod, Taganrog, and Perm.
Also, on January 23, a Russian bomber accidentally dropped a FAB-500 aerial bomb on Belgorod.
