After the start of the Kursk operation, Belarus deployed at least a thousand troops to the Gomel region bordering Ukraine, according to the Belarusian Hajun monitoring group.

Starting from August 10, Belarusian Armed Forces and Air Force troops have been deployed to the Gomel region, which borders Ukraine.

The reason for the deployment of Belarusian troops to the southern part of the country is the situation in Ukraine and the Kursk region of Russia.

According to the Belarusian Hajun, there is currently a grouping of at least 1,000 personnel concentrated in the southern direction.

Recently, several helicopters and attack aircraft, as well as a number of units with armored personnel carriers, tanks, and S-300PS surface-to-air missile systems, have been sent to the Gomel region.

Recently, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko claimed that Belarus has deployed nearly one-third of its army to the border with Ukraine. This is reportedly due to the presence of over 120,000 Ukrainian troops in the area.

On August 10, Belarus announced plans to deploy troops and Iskander and Polonez systems to strengthen the regions bordering Ukraine.

Additionally, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense has displayed tanks that are being sent to the border regions with Ukraine.
