The Belarus Ministry of Defence on Telegram has displayed tanks that are allegedly being moved to the border regions of Ukraine.

The ministry claims that "units of one of the mechanized brigades have been put on alert to perform their designated tasks."

"Troops are loading military equipment onto railway transport and are beginning a combined march to the designated areas," the Belarus Ministry of Defense states.

What happened before

On August 10, Belarus announced plans to deploy troops and Iskander and Polonez systems to allegedly strengthen regions bordering Ukraine.

This announcement followed Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko's accusation that Ukraine had violated its airspace.

The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) believes that Belarus's intention to move Iskanders and Polonezes to the border regions is an attempt to assist Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in the war.
