Beijing is not responding to Ukraine's evidence that Russian weapons contain components produced by Chinese companies, said Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Presidential Commissioner on Sanctions Policy of Ukraine, during a national telethon broadcast.

Vlasiuk noted that Ukraine values China as a reliable trading partner. At the same time, Kyiv respects that Beijing does not supply lethal weapons to Russian occupiers.

According to him, a series of consultations took place with representatives of the People's Republic of China (PRC) regarding Chinese components in Russian weapons.

"On the one hand, there is a completely serious perception that this is a problem — the Chinese government should not allow such a volume of critical components to enter the Russian military-industrial complex. On the other hand, we have never received a response based on any investigation they could have conducted using our information," Vlasiuk added.

He said that after one of the major strikes on Kyiv, specialists identified parts that had been manufactured at a Chinese factory in June of this year.

The Ukrainian side provided this evidence to China, but Chinese diplomats did not respond. After that, Ukraine imposed sanctions against five Chinese manufacturers.

China supplies drone engines to Russia

Reuters previously reported that Chinese-made drone engines were being delivered to Russia under the guise of "industrial refrigeration units."

According to the publication, the engines were supplied by the company Beijing Xichao International Technology and Trade.

Earlier, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Presidential Commissioner on Sanctions Policy of Ukraine, stated that approximately 60% of foreign components found in Russian weapons are supplied from China.
