Baykar plant to fully operate in Ukraine after war ends - Ambassador to Türkiye
The Bayraktar drone manufacturing plant of the Turkish company Baykar Makina will be fully operational in Ukraine after the end of the war with Russia, according to the Ambassador of Ukraine to Türkiye Vasyl Bodnar.
"We are working with Baykar Makina in various dimensions, including the establishment of the plant," said Bodnar.
According to him, the plant will fully operate in Ukraine after the war ends.
The ambassador declined to provide details about the plant for security reasons but noted that progress in this regard is noticeable.
He also reminded that Ukraine is cooperating with the company Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).
Baykar Plant in Ukraine
In July 2022, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the preparation of an agreement with Türkiye that would allow the construction of the Bayraktar drone plant in Ukraine.
Later, Baykar received license permits from Türkiye to produce Bayraktar TB2 and Akıncı in Ukraine.
Previously, Baykar's CEO, Haluk Bayraktar, stated that the plant in Ukraine would open in 2025. The planned investment amount is $95.5 million.
In July 2023, the Turkish company Baykar began building a plant in Ukraine to manufacture Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles. The plant is expected to produce over 100 drones annually.
