At least 3 Russian aircraft affected: Ukrainian Air Force comments on Belbek airfield attack
On January 31, at the Belbek airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea, at least three Russian aircraft and personnel were reportedly affected during an attack, according to the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yurii Ihnat.
According to him, the best confirmation of the consequences of the attack on the occupiers' airfield is satellite imagery, where something can be discerned.
"But even better confirmation is obituaries in Russian media. This is what they themselves acknowledge and publish information about the impact, at least there were three aircraft, and then certain personnel was destroyed," Ihnat notes.
Attack on the Belbek airfield
On January 31, explosions were repeatedly heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Local Telegram channels published photos and videos showing traces of missiles in the sky.
There were also reports on social media about a supposed fire near the Belbek airfield in Sevastopol. At the same time, the Russians claimed that dozens of missiles had allegedly been attempted to be launched at the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Later, the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, made a statement, hinting at a strike on the Belbek airfield.
On February 1, Russian media reported that a communication center at the Belbek airfield in Sevastopol could have been attacked.
It should be noted that according to the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yurii Ihnat, certain objects were affected as a result of yesterday's explosions in Crimea, particularly in the area of the Belbek airfield. However, to determine the exact consequences, confirmation from intelligence or satellite imagery is needed.
Today it became known that during the attack on the Belbek airfield, Russian General Alexander Tatarenko was eliminated.
